The Lake Placid Classic is a friendly running event that takes participants through the beautiful village of Lake Placid during the spectacular fall season. It is a USA Track and Field sanctioned race.

Originally started by Dr. Bob Lopez and a group of local runners, the race has evolved from the 1970s when it included a marathon run from Paul Smith’s to Lake Placid as well as a half-marathon run from Saranac Lake to Lake Placid.

From start to finish expect lively music, great food, opportunities to make new friends and a wonderful event the entire family can enjoy. Every registered runner will receive a long sleeved t-shirt. Every participant that crosses the finish line will receive a finishers medal, and lots of cheers!
